more and more and more great films!

Hard to explain the joy at popping an unknown film into the DVD player and seeing magic come out the TV screen. We just watched an entry all the way from Spain titled "El Gran Zambini" that is everything a truly indie short should be -- moving, beautiful, emotional, about PEOPLE. Can't wait to see people's faces light up when they see it! Yes, it is selected -- yahoo! Three hours won't hold all these great films -- now what!?!?

PCP and speed? How did you know what the party treats will be at the reception? (In reality, just popcorn, folks. But you CAN buy wine or beer! HA!)

And "7:35 In The Morning" is really special, certainly worthy of the Oscar nom. We'll show (in competiton) that same director's new film, which I think IS BETTER!

I'm going to be honest... I'm not coming to the screening if it's just a bunch of foreign films.

I think you should start plugging some of the local folks.

That last comment is very valid, I think! Yes, Tucson and other Arizona films are the focus of this fest, and I am delighted to say that they will dominate the film list (and with great quality). Has anyone here seen "The Yellow Butterfly," from Tucson, for instance? WOW -- a beautiful, somber, poetic piece! Complete film list up soon in a couple days!

So far, many films from Spain have been mentioned and listed. Any explanation how so many people from Spain found out about this and submitted? I'm looking forward to seeing them. Too me, the more foreign films, the better. Where else are we going to see short films from Spain?

We do have a great selection of films from around the globe; they've been mentioned first because we'll do a special showcase of films from Spain during the fest, and we already know what films will be included.

The ShortFest has gained publicity outside Arizona through the Web, and we arranged getting some of the films through Spanish organizations similar to our own.

The whole film list will be up by Friday, with lots of Arizona films! :)
